It goes back to Henry Ford who was against the Jewish people who began the idea that the Jews were draining the Christians out of Christmas according to “The International Jew: The Worlds Foremost Problem”. A series of articles he published in his weekly news letter. Then it made a replay via the John Birch Society who promoted the idea that the Jews were launching an assault on Christmas along with the UN and soon there would be no Christmas trees, we’d have to call them Holiday Trees, that was back in 1959 and apparently it never caught on.

I think it began again with Fox, they had this thing, I think it was with O’Reilly, who claimed that soon weren’t going to be able to say Merry Christmas, that to be politically correct it would have to be inclusive and we’d have to say season’s greetings or happy holidays.

Of course several religions have their winter holidays ( holy days) at about the same time and suddenly we were seeing peculiar things like “Jesus is the reason for the Season”, when, for a good part of the world they were getting winter without Jesus in a manger.

There are people in this country who dearly want to see everyone convert to their particular brand of Christianity. Given everyone likes their denomination best I can’t see that happening. I don’t find being inclusive exclusive either.
