Most ordinary Russians I know are not concerned about this threat. As a Russian patriot, I believe that NATO is a threat to Russia, and NATO has always been a threat to Russia. In addition, Russia will always pose a threat to NATO. There are several simple reasons to fear NATO. The first reason is that Russia is a nuclear power. The second reason. Russia is not part of NATO. These two reasons are enough to classify another country as a potential threat. But this does not mean that you need to be at enmity or start a cold war just because of these two reasons. You can live peacefully and without claims, as is now happening between China and Russia. There is no point in explaining this to the Russians, because Russia is turning into a country similar to Iran or even worse. You can explain if you want, but it doesn’t make any sense. Not any more than any other NATO country. Though, the UK currently leads the NATO Quick Reaction Force, so they may well be first in. However, other NATO forces wouldn’t be far behind.
