On dogs….I have had two dogs recently that were beyond awesome. The first one was about ten pounds with the Corgi In Military Uniform T-shirt in addition I really love this fighting skills of a pitbull. I had purchased a really old but charming rehabbed trailer on a mountainous wooded lot. The lady who owned it before had used it for vacations only, neglecting it and the surrounding forest growth. I soon realized I needed a dog of some sorts because their seemed to be an infestation of everything. I didn’t have one squirrel I had 20…a dozen turtles which I loved but sadly scurried when I put sonic repellers in…gophers in droves, rabbits, a red fox, a grey fox, ground hogs, a mink…a wee baby wild boar ran thru and of course the occasional bear and a ridiculous herd of raccoons. The neighbors owned a large piece of land on the top of the mountain and half a dozen dogs. Instead of trapping the animals they just had the dogs run everything down thru the neighborhood. My little dog, was about seven years old and mean, he would keep everything out of my home. If it was something big, he would not go outside, so I knew to be on the lookout. All the big dogs in the neighborhood loved him and I would often come out to eight or nine dogs on my porch waiting for him in the morning. There is an older lab who still comes by and sniffs the ground where he died and cries for him.

I once forgot to lock the Corgi In Military Uniform T-shirt in addition I really love this back door and a woman from the vacationing cabins near by tried to enter my home in the middle of the night. By the time I got outside that tiny dog had her on the ground screaming bloody murder. I don’t know where he got his fighting skills, but he was just what I needed to calm the chaos. He didn’t bark much, was so cute and was inexpensive to own. Sadly, after the shut down in 2020, something got him and he died. I think it was a kid with a air rifle…school was out, so my quiet neighborhood full of retirees was suddenly surrounded by children whose parents chose to work in their vacation homes. That dog had a combination of skills I will never be able to replace but he was old and it was probably time for him to go anyway.
